Their stories were posted at Jason's FanZone right after the event
The play was great - really funny and I hadn't expected it
to be a comedy but I guess I wasn't paying attention to the posts on here. It
was just so incredible watching Jason acting right there before our eyes. Lee
Evans was very good too - he's incredible at the physical comedy. Jason's
character was much more subdued and does spend the first ten mins or so hardly
moving or speaking at all...but he does spring into action later.
He has a lovely short goatee and wears glasses at the beginning (swoon) and yes,
Iris, he does bend down but it's part of the play!
I'm sure it wasn't just for our benefit!
He wears a shirt and trousers but then gets dressed into a full suit and Simo
and I were clutching each other as he dressed! He just looked so darned smart
and gorgeous!
We had really good seats and could see those blue eyes really well!
There were quite a few of us "Dumb Waitresses" there
tonight. We caught up with Meryl (mezzerb) and Linda and her husband Tim. I'm
sure Tim got the best photos afterwards as he wasn't busy drooling!
We hung around by the stage door for quite a while after the performance and had
almost convinced ourselves that he wasn't coming out when he finally appeared.
Quite a few people clamoured around him to get autographs and we did hang back
as we'd seen him before but Simo just pushed her way to the front!
There was just no stopping this woman! I was so proud of her!!! And Tim,
professional that he was, stepped in at this point and asked him if he could
take a pic of them both as Simo had come so far! Jason of course obliged!
(The photo is GORGEOUS! When Tim send us them we'll get them posted on the
board.
My moment of intense fangirlyness came when he looked up at me, recognised me
and said "Hello!" and then came over and hugged me!
I kissed him this time! So forward!
I still didn't think he knew I was "Kay" but the others told me later he'd twice
called me over for a group photo, as I was taking the one of everyone, and told
me to give the camera to someone else. Sorry...but ..."he knows my name" *sigh*
We then had a really nice chat and I told him there were plenty more FZ ladies
coming to see him in the next few weeks. He seemed really surprised about this
(Bless him...he just doesn't GET IT!) and asked me about it again later. He said
if he'd known he'd have put more effort in!
We gave him a little gift - an emergency cold kit - a bag of herbal teas, a
lemon, some honey and my grandma's recipe for hot honey and lemon, as he'd said
on tv he had a cold. He thanked us, said it was really thoughtful and put it
safely away in his backpack.
He was as gracious as always, and took the time to have photos taken with
several people. We do have a lovely group shot and Simo and I asked him if we
could have one with just us and him as he'd brought us together.
BTW: PLEASE AMERICAN LADIES - bring a bucketload of silver sharpies with you -
our silver pen didn't work and he couldn't find his but Simo got her autograph
by borrowing someone else's!
Simo did notice what he was wearing at the stage door - black NY Yankees
baseball cap (Dez in Morse?), black Nike puffa jacket (like Pat Keegan) jeans
and scruffy sneakers and carrying levi's backpack. We decided on the way home
that he looked like Dez II from Loved up with the goatee. But no piercings!
Eyes as blue as ever - girls you've just got to see them to believe them!
You ladies going to see this play have SUCH a treat ahead! I hope you all get a
stage door encounter too - but please enjoy every minute of the play because
it's so amazing to see him doing what he does so well right infront of you!
WARNING! You only get into the theatre just before
the play starts as the two actors are already on stage in character when you
take your seats. (This is how it's meant to be!) It's like the play has already
begun! That was really disconcerting but just GO STRAIGHT TO YOUR SEAT and WATCH
HIM - even doing nothing he's mesmerising!
It's just been an amazing night! For all of us - but I don't think Simo will
stop grinning for a week!
Thanks to our lovely web-mummy (Kay) I got the chance of
meeting Jason. The play was great and his performance was just brilliant. But
for me the really cool part was meeting him afterwards. I was so desperate that,
I just went straight up to him and said "Hi. I am Kay's friend from Romania!"
And he said: "Where from? Surely, you didn't just fly over to see the play" And
when i say " Sure i did" he was so surprised. I got my autograph and picture
taken. He was just SO UNBELIEVABLY NICE! Hope we'll see the pics soon. Thank you
LINDA and TIM!
So, it was a night to remember and i am still buzzing. It paid to be a fan for 7
years now just to meet him. WONDERFUL GUY!!!!
WE LOVE JASON!!!!!!! :)
Simona
I knew Kay and Simona would be up last night posting about our recent encounter so I've jumped on this morning just to have a quick look. Jason was great as always and very gracious when he met us at the stage door - I'm not sure that he was expecting anyone and he and Lee were dressed up for a quick getaway on the tube!!!!!!! He had obviously not read his email that we were going but I referred to it because I know that Kay said we would go to see him open an envelope. I said 'we've told you that we would come and see you open an envelope and we've just seen you do it!' (He opens an envelope during the play). He looked right at me and laughed
I felt that Jason was looking out for Lee Evans who despite his stage
hyperactivity
was very quiet and I get the impression that he is quite shy and not
expecting the reception that he received at the door. I asked him if he would
sign my programme for my son and he was quite lovely and did so!
Then we went back round to the theatre to buy some posters and they had sold
out!!!! The silly receptionist said she'd better order some more if there was
going to be some demand for them. Kay assured her that there would be a demand -
we were there from JASON'S FANZONE and there were more fans coming to watch. She
seemed quite bemused!!!!! Hasn't she looked at the man?????!!!!!!!
On the way home Simona couldn't stop smiling but I was so tired that I just
couldn't seem to take it all in. I had a lovely lie in this morning
semi-dreaming and thinking about last night!!!!!!!!
In
a nutshell! The play was brilliant, really funny and at one point Tim couldn't
stop laughing. 'Our hero' done good and I hope that he will be looking to play
more theatre in the not too distant future. The highlight was seeing Simona
grinning like a Cheshire cat, I don't think she'll ever lose that smile from her
pretty little face, she was so overwhelmed and there are a couple of pics that
Tim took of her with Jason that she is going to love. It was great to see the
reaction from him when he got to our little crowd and saw Kay. He said, "Ooo
hello." stepped forward and hugged her and gave her a kiss, AND there you are
Kay, I told you he would recognise you, he's seen and talked to you long enough
before AND he called you Kay a few times
All the girls had a wonderful time with him.
Must mention (although this is Jason's zone here) Lee Evans is so sweet, bless
his heart and Tim mentioned to me how he could see that Jason was looking out
for him as Lee did look a bit overwhelmed by the people there. This is the first
time that Tim has been in Jason's presence and he said how obliging he thought
that Jason was with everyone and how he made time for them, he was very
impressed with him. I have been telling Tim for goodness knows how long that
Jason was a sweetie.
Have a wonderful you ladies who will be
seeing the show, as if I needed to say that.
You ladies who haven't had the pleasure yet, get yourself ready and take deep
breaths, your time is fast approaching.
