The
Review
Wow...that is one word to describe the experience!
You walk up a small staircase into the auditorium and then suddenly you see the
stage only a foot before you, with Jason and Lee each on a separate bed. Now
front row felt like we were practically on the stage itself, was so shocked as
to how amazing the view was from my seat. Right in front of Jason too, couldn't
have planned it better!
I won't go into the play in detail, as I don't want to spoil the story for
anyone and persuade others to go see it! It makes you think and laugh, always a
good combination. Some of my friends told me afterwards they found the pauses in
the play too long, but I was so engrossed in the play and the actors that to be
honest I didn't realise there were many if any that were overly long! So this
comment surprised me. I cannot praise their acting enough, Jason and Lee. It was
gripping from start to end.
Unique moment: When Lee’s character has problems off stage flushing the loo
someone in the audience shouted “it’s a floater!” to which Jason smiled, tutted
and turned the page of his newspaper. Someone’s mobile phone also went off near
the start which made me want to wring their neck – as if there were not enough
posters around asking to turn your phone off BEFORE entering (or at least put on
silence etc).
Now the bit that you might be waiting for…YES I MET HIM!!!!!
Managed to get Jason and Lee to sign my programme, and then as a bonus a photo
with Jason which I shall hopefully see the end result of when developed. He was
very kind at the stage door, making sure everyone that was waiting got something
signed etc, as was Lee. I was star struck and didn’t say much BUT I did get the
chance to ask Jason about ‘Good’ – he said the money was secure now but with
‘Brotherhood’ season 2 planned he was doubtful about being in it at all.
Overall it was a brilliant night, a well-written and produced play with two very
talented actors…obviously the biggest bonus of all was that one of the actors
was Jason. Never did I ever think I would have had the chance to see Jason on
stage, or even get to meet him!
It was a great night, my group of friends and I had a lovely time!
